Description

Emeraid Omnivore is designed to meet the metabolic needs of critically ill omnivores including:

  • mammals such as rats and mice
  • birds such as parrots and finches
  • as well as many free-ranging species.

This diet may be fed as a partial source of nutrition for an extended period, or the sole source of nutrition for up to 7 days.

Storage and Shelf-Life

Refrigerate upon arrival. The shelf-life of Emeraid Omnivore is approximately one year from the date of manufacturing.

Feeding Directions

The smallest tubes that may be used reliably to feed Emeraid Omnivore are 16-gauge stainless steel feeding needles and 5 French red rubber catheters.

  • Ideally formula should be prepared immediately before feeding and no more than 30 minutes before feeding. Reheating is not advised.
  • Measure one level scoop of powder (equivalent to 10 grams). Do not pack powder. Add to mixing container then shake powder.
  • Add 10 ml of water (105-110ºF or 41-43ºC)
  • Shake mixture vigorously.
  • Keep feeding tube and syringe containing formula in warm water until ready to feed.
  • Do not load feeding tube with formula until immediately before feeding.
